Who We Are

Geiger Coaching was born out of Ryan Geiger's love of finding the limits of performance. As a professional cyclist, Coach Geiger had the opportunity to compete around the world under the guidance of many top coaches. Through his journey, he developed a deep understanding of the different training methodologies used to elevate cardiovascular and muscular performance. Through both his personal and professional experiences, Coach Geiger created a hybrid methodology built on the fundamentals of classic periodization, while developing a more holistic program that incorporates strength work, mental conditioning, and mobility under one overarching training plan. By developing a resilient and healthy athlete, training blocks can be drastically more productive, leading to the results every competitor strives for.

Ryan Geiger

Founder and Head Coach

Ryan Geiger thrived in a competitive environment from an early age. Football, baseball, and basketball dominated his life until the moment he swung his leg over a mountain bike. By the age of 16 he was donning the US National Team colors in mountain bike races across Europe. As he dove deeper and deeper into his professional cycling career, Ryan became fascinated with the process of developing peak performance. Through thoughtful practice and experimentation, alongside the knowledge shared from some of the country's best coaches, Ryan started to define a coaching methodology that gave birth to Geiger Coaching. Over the last decade Ryan has refined his approach, creating well-rounded, healthy athletes who compete at the highest levels of endurance sports around the world.

Sarah Vanier

Hybrid Athlete Coach

Sarah grew up with competition: She was attending college football games from the time she was born (go Kansas State Wildcats!), she was a nationally ranked fencer before she hit her teenage years, she tried her hand at volleyball, basketball, and tennis, and always raced her friends down the ski slopes on her snowboard. Sarah is also a lifelong soccer player, playing competitive soccer through her university career where she pursued a Master's in psychology from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. She has always been involved in coaching and mentoring, starting with youth soccer and fencing, gaining professional experience in job readiness, and then progressing to coaching both youth and adult CrossFit. Sarah now competes nationally in a variety of hybrid fitness events, including Hyrox, DEKA, marathon, CrossFit, and trail running/OCR. Sarah loves giving back to her community through her work with Forging Youth Resilience, a youth-serving fitness nonprofit. Drawing on her background in competition, coaching at all levels, and psychology, Sarah is now a hybrid-exclusive coach at Geiger Coaching.

Carly Wopat

Hybrid Athlete Coach

Carly is a hard-charging, highly motivated professional athlete and coach, with a background of training and competing at the highest level across multiple disciplines. Growing up in beautiful Santa Barbara, she spent her days surfing at the beach, running around in the California mountains, and playing every sport she could get her hands on. It was in volleyball, however, that she found true passion and opportunity, and continued on to play for 4 years at Stanford University, where she finished as a team captain, a 3-time first team All-American, and a HONDA award finalist. Off the court, she developed a passion for human evolution and biology, and graduated in 4 years with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology. She went on to compete professionally for The US Women’s National Team in both indoor and beach volleyball over the span of 6 years. When the Covid-19 pandemic put a halt on professional sports, she achieved her dream of becoming a firefighter, and ventured into CrossFit, trail running, and other functional fitness modalities. 2023 marked a big year as she entered the hybrid fitness scene, winning the GORUCK games, winning the Hybricon Games, setting a new Deka Strong World Record, and building for Hyrox. It is her goal to bring what she knows and practices to other athletes, and guide them in building the skillsets and mentalities that will lead them to the highest version of themselves.

Kallan Creagar

Multi-Disciplinary Cycling Coach

Kallan grew up in a home where his parents were always active, whether that was adventure races, triathlons, mountain bike races, collegiate soccer or hunting and fishing. Kallan played all the traditional sports growing up and finally, when he was in high school, his parents convinced him to throw my leg over a mountain bike and do a couple of races. "A couple of races" turned into winning a Pro XC Cup in Colorado Springs (Cat 1 Junior), going to regional USA Cycling Camps, winning the Cat 2 Junior National Championships and winning the 24-Hour Team National Mountain Bike Championship on the same team as Head Coach Ryan Geiger. Nowadays, Kallan races and trains to get his mind right to be a better person for the people whom he loves. Kallan believes cycling is beautiful because of the place it takes your mind to, from the depths of pain and despair to the most peaceful mountain tops. Cycling trains you to be resilient and strong to face the world and all its challenges. He loves helping people learn how to become more resilient through consistent and science-backed training.

Afiya Letford

Strength & Hybrid Performance Coach

Coach Afiya’s journey into fitness wasn’t conventional—she didn’t grow up playing sports. Instead, she discovered her passion for movement in early adulthood, inspired by her own transformation working with a personal trainer. That experience turned client into coach, fueling a career dedicated to helping others unlock their potential through strength and performance training.

With five years of experience as a strength coach and three years leading group strength and conditioning classes, Afiya has built a reputation for blending technical expertise with an athlete-first mindset. She’s a Nike Trainer and an elite competitor, having spent the past three years competing nationally in lifting, calisthenics, HYROX, and hybrid fitness events like Hybricon and Turf Wars.

Now a well-rounded hybrid athlete and coach, Afiya is bringing her expertise to Geiger Coaching, helping athletes push limits, refine performance, and build the resilience needed to dominate in their sport. Whether you’re looking to gain strength, improve endurance, or master hybrid competition, Coach Afiya is here to take your training to the next level.
